Failure @ Arms was a project I did in the summer of 2006.  A bumpy spring led me to write a series of songs in the space of about 2 weeks.  Taking these songs as an opportunity, I set about a recording session at home in what I dubbed “Mattcave Studios,” using what I’d learned from my previous recording adventures.  That summer, I spent many long nights after work up in a hot and steamy attic which had originally been my brother’s bedroom working on these songs.  After a month and a half, I emerged with the core of what would become F@A.

“Headcase” and “Theme” I had recorded the fall before for a friend in film school who needed soundtrack material.  All other songs I did that summer.  All the sounds on this one were made live in my studio(s).
